The town of London is dealing with a massive wave of sadness right now. People are mourning the loss of Jordan Tyler Gray. He was only 30 years old. His life ended way too soon after a terrible accident at the lake.
Jordan was the kind of guy who left a real mark on the people around him. His sudden passing has left his family and friends completely devastated. Right now, his loved ones are just trying to hold onto the good times they shared with him. Everyone who knew him is going to miss him deeply.

The whole thing happened on a Thursday evening at Laurel Lake, which sits right in Laurel County, Kentucky. It was supposed to be a regular evening outdoors. Jordan decided to go for a swim near Cox Road. He wanted to make it all the way across a cove.
According to state wildlife officials, things went wrong quickly during that swim. The Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources reported the details of the drowning. Swimming across a cove can look easy, but the water can change on you fast.
People watching from the shore saw Jordan start to struggle in the water. He was fighting to stay afloat. Then, he went completely under. The witnesses watched closely, but he never came back up to the surface.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene as soon as they got the call. They brought out a lot of heavy gear to help find him. They ended up using an underwater drone to scan the bottom of the lake.
The search crews finally located his body around 7:20 p.m. First responders pronounced him dead right there at the scene. Now, an investigation is underway to figure out exactly what happened, while his family leans on each other for support.
