McClure, Pa. — It was a Saturday evening that turned tragic for two men from different towns when a single-vehicle rollover crash left one dead and another in critical condition. The incident happened around 5:30 p.m. on U.S. Route 522, just north of Forbes Street in McClure.

Ronald Whitman Jr., a 31-year-old man from Winfield, didn’t make it out of the crash alive. He was pronounced dead at the scene after suffering severe injuries. The other occupant, Clinton Muir, 32, from Tyrone, was taken by helicopter to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Medics say he’s in serious condition but stable.

According to what investigators have pieced together so far, the car took off like a rocket after leaving the intersection of Route 522 and Specht Street. The vehicle lost control, spun out, and rolled down an embankment. Both men were thrown from the car during the violent crash.

Local emergency crews arrived quickly to help. They secured the area and got the injured to safety. Route 522 was shut down for about an hour while officials did their work. PennDOT helped manage traffic and set up a detour to keep things moving.

The community is reeling from the loss of Ronald Whitman Jr. His family and friends are heartbroken, and everyone is praying for Clinton Muir’s recovery. Authorities are still looking into what caused the crash, but so far, there’s no word on what exactly went wrong.

This tragedy has shaken the small town of McClure. People are talking about it, sharing stories, and trying to make sense of how something like this could happen. No one wants to see another family go through this pain.

It’s a sad reminder of how fragile life can be. As the investigation continues, the focus remains on the victims and the people who love them.
