A quiet Friday morning turned into an absolute nightmare for a tight-knit North Carolina community. A terrible car wreck took two innocent lives away in the blink of an eye. The tragedy has left local residents completely devastated as they try to process the sudden loss.
The folks living in the area are deeply mourning the loss of 29-year-old Amanda Green and her 11-year-old daughter, Arabella Powell. Both of them were well-known and loved in the small nearby town of Fair Bluff. Family members and old classmates are struggling to find words for the heartbreak.

The crash happened right around 10:20 in the morning at a rural intersection east of town. Amanda and her daughter were passing through Hinsons Crossroads Road and Rough and Ready Road. That is when another vehicle suddenly came out of nowhere and slammed right into them.
State troopers reported that a 2022 Toyota T-boned the driver’s side of Amanda’s vehicle with massive force. The impact was incredibly severe. Emergency responders rushed to the scene, but there was unfortunately nothing they could do to save the mother and daughter.
The driver of the Toyota was identified by law enforcement as Patricia Ann Jackson, who traveled from Fayetteville. State Highway Patrol Sergeant Mark Gore confirmed that Jackson completely failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection. That single mistake caused the entire horrific accident.
Jackson had to be flown to a hospital by a medical helicopter after the wreck. Officials noted that her injuries were not life-threatening and she is expected to recover. An adult passenger and two kids inside Jackson’s car were lucky to walk away with only minor cuts and bruises.
Now, the whole community is leaning on each other to get through this dark time. Beautiful tributes are pouring in online from people sharing fond memories of the pair. The locals are promising to keep the legacy of Amanda and Arabella alive forever.
