The Manhattan community is completely heartbroken after a terrible late-night motorcycle accident took the life of Ty Rodriguez. Ty was only 26 years old when the crash happened on Harlem River Drive. His sudden death has left everyone who knew him completely shattered and struggling to find words.
Ty was a young man who brought an incredible amount of joy and laughter to his family and friends. He had a massive presence that could instantly brighten up any room he walked into. At 26, his whole life was right ahead of him, full of big dreams and endless possibilities.

The fatal accident took place early Thursday morning at around 2:24 a.m. Ty was riding his 2023 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle down the southbound lanes of Harlem River Drive. For reasons that are still unclear, he lost total control of the bike while navigating the roadway.
The motorcycle careened off its path and slammed directly into a metal guardrail along the side of the road. The force of the impact was devastating. The New York City Police Department rushed to the scene immediately after receiving the emergency calls.
First responders and emergency medical personnel arrived within minutes to try and save his life. They worked frantically to provide medical aid and stabilize him right there on the pavement. Despite their best efforts, Ty suffered injuries that were simply too severe to survive.
